Project Brief:
The Light Rail Transit (LRT) project in Egypt is a modern transportation system designed to connect Cairo with its expanding satellite cities, including the New Administrative Capital (NAC). The project aims to provide a sustainable, efficient, and eco-friendly mode of public transportation to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance connectivity.
Construction began in 2018, and the first phase was inaugurated by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in July 2022.
Ongoing phases are expected to further expand the network, enhancing its integration with the New Administrative Capital and other key cities.
